Three travelers on a 14-night Majestic Princess sailing from Southampton to Arctic Norway, with a night in London on the Princess package first. The earlier research on flights, transfers, onboard packages and insurance stays here for reference.
A sketch of the route, not the ship’s track. Coastlines and borders: Natural Earth. The port days are in the ports guide.
Still to choose. Dashed days are at sea. Each day opens its card in the itinerary.
Three adults in two balcony cabins on a 14-night Princess sailing to Arctic Norway, booked through another agency. One flies from San Francisco and two from Seattle. They looked at arriving two days early, and settled on one night in London with the Princess package, whose airport pickup and coach to the ship make the arrival simple. One of them would rather avoid long walks and many stairs. The travelers are booking their own flights, the ride from the ship to Heathrow on the 17th, the Wi-Fi plan and the insurance; what is left here is the London afternoon and the shore days.
As of the 8 Oct 2026 version.
Nothing until the first pass comes back.
Everyone lands late morning on Tuesday and Princess brings them to the Leonardo Royal by early afternoon. That leaves the afternoon and evening, best built around a vehicle or a boat so nobody has to walk far after an overnight flight. The coach to the ship leaves the next morning.
| Plan for the day | Cost | Walking | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1A private black cab tour, half a day | From £330 (about $445) a cab with London Cab Tours; Black Taxi Tour London from £440 (about $595). About $150 to $200 each. | Very little: door to door, out only for photos | From the hotel door after check-in; a 3-hour tour fits the afternoon. Licensed cabbie-guides, up to six passengers, free cancellation to 48 hours. The best fit for this party. |
| 2A Thames boat from Westminster Pier | a few pounds each | Seated, with an indoor saloon | From Tower Millennium Pier, about 15 minutes’ walk or a short taxi from the hotel, west to Westminster or east to Greenwich, and back. |
| 3The big sights, with timed tickets | Tower of London £37 (about $50), Westminster Abbey £31 (about $42), Churchill War Rooms £34 (about $46) | A lot of standing; the Tower has cobbles and steps | For one afternoon, pick one: the Tower of London, about 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel, or Westminster Abbey (last entry 3:30 pm) by taxi. The Abbey is mostly level and easier than the Tower. |
| Plan for the day | Cost | Walking | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| A hop-on hop-off bus, ridden as one loop | about £40 each estimate | None; the lower deck avoids the stairs | Cheap and low effort. |
| For repeat visitors | varies | Moderate | The British Museum or the V&A, Greenwich by boat, or Hampton Court (35 minutes from Waterloo), then a West End show. |
A three-hour cab tour from the hotel after check-in, or a river boat from Tower Pier if energy is low, then an early dinner nearby. Book the cab tour in January; it cancels free to 48 hours.
Princess sold all three a one-night package: the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge on Tuesday 2 March, a met-at-the-airport transfer to the hotel, and a coach to the ship on the 3rd. It was all or nothing for the three, and they have decided to keep it. What it costs, set against booking the same things directly, is in the travelers-only bookings section.
| Option | Nights | Hotel | Transfers | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1Keep it: one night at the Leonardo Royal Tower Bridge | Tue 2 Mar | Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge, 4-star, rated 9.0 on Expedia | Princess: met at Heathrow, a coach to the ship | Chosen. The simplest: Princess owns the transfers and its coach waits for its guests. A good hotel on the quiet eastern edge of the City, and one night, with the afternoon of the 2nd for London. |
| 2Drop it: two nights on the South Bank | Mon 1 and Tue 2 Mar | A riverside 4-star by Westminster Bridge, booked direct, about $230 to $410 a night | One private vehicle for all three legs | A full London day, a base within a level walk of the river boats and the London Eye, and door-to-door cars. Costs $70 to $290 less for the three than the package like for like. |
The Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge is a large, modern 4-star with 370 rooms of 28 to 32 square metres, generous by London standards. It has a 25-metre indoor pool, spa, sauna and gym, a restaurant and bar open 7 am to 11 pm, and lifts to every floor. Guests rate it 9.0 on Expedia across 2,700 reviews. It is near Aldgate: Tower Hill tube is a 7-minute walk and the Tower of London about 15. The streets right around it are offices and busy roads, quiet in the evening. Westminster, the London Eye and the West End are a 15 to 25 minute tube ride away. Well-reviewed 4-stars within a few minutes’ walk run $190 to $230 a night (New Road Hotel $189, The Tower Hotel $210, Wilde Aldgate $226); this one is $338 booked direct.
The transfers buy a Princess representative at Heathrow arrivals, a coach to the hotel, a hospitality desk in the lobby, and a coach from the hotel to the gangway with luggage handled. Coaches wait to fill, so it is slower than a car, and the ship will not leave without its own coach. A private vehicle for both legs costs about the same for three people and is quicker and door to door.
Decided: all three keep the package for one night. The included transfers make it worth it: they carry no premium over a private car, Princess owns the problem if a flight is late, and its coach to the ship waits for its own guests.
Decided 8 Oct 2026: keep the package. The included transfers make it worth it.
Both bookings are on Princess’s Standard fare. Plus or Premier can be added before sailing; pre-cruise pricing on Majestic Princess is $65 per person per day for Plus and $100 for Premier: $910 and $1,400 over 14 nights. Both guests in a cabin must choose the same option; the solo traveler chooses independently. Nothing has to be bought now.
| Option | Over 14 nights, each | What it covers | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1Standard, with one shared four-device Wi-Fi plan | about $462: $18 a day gratuities plus a third of the Wi-Fi | Gratuities and Wi-Fi; drinks and specialty dining pay as you go | Chosen. Plus only pays for someone spending about $32 a day on drinks and specialty coffee. |
| 2Plus | $910 | Gratuities, one Wi-Fi device, up to 15 drinks a day priced $15 or less, four casual meals | Comes out ahead for anyone who wants Wi-Fi and has two or three drinks or coffees a day. |
| 3Premier | $1,400, less a $200 excursion credit | All of Plus, drinks up to $20, four Wi-Fi devices, unlimited casual and specialty dining, photos, reserved theater seats | Recovered with four or five specialty dinners after the credit; plausible for people who enjoy the specialty restaurants. |

| Wi-Fi | $24.99 a day, one device ($350) | one device | four devices |
| Drinks | pay as you go | up to 15 a day, $15 cap each | unlimited, $20 cap each |
| Casual dining | about $18 each | 4 meals | unlimited |
| Specialty dining | about $65 each | not included | unlimited |

Decided: Standard for all three, with one shared four-device Wi-Fi plan. One Cabin B traveler has sailed on Standard before and was happy with it, has rarely used the specialty restaurants, and none of them rate the casual venues. Their sums: $18 a day in gratuities plus a one-third share of a $45 a day Wi-Fi plan is $33 a day each, against $65 for Plus. The $32 a day gap is what Plus would have to earn back in drinks.
The logic is sound. Over 14 nights, Standard with shared Wi-Fi comes to about $462 each, or $1,386 for the three, against $910 each and $2,730 for Plus. Plus only pays for someone who would spend $32 a day on drinks and specialty coffee, which is roughly two cocktails plus a latte every day including port days, once the 20% service charge is counted. For the solo traveler the bar is higher than it looks: Cabin B needs the four-device plan anyway, so the solo traveler’s share of it is nearly free, and taking Plus alone would cost about $47 a day more than staying on Standard. Their onboard credit will cover a fair number of pay-as-you-go drinks.
Three things to check. First, that one four-device plan can be shared across two cabins on separate bookings; guests commonly report doing this by signing the extra devices in under the purchaser's account, but it is worth confirming with Princess or the booking agency unverified. Second, four devices across three people means one spare, and a device can be swapped out for another. Third, the $45 is the onboard-era price reported by reviewers; the pre-cruise price in the Princess app may be a little lower. Nothing has to be bought now, and a package can still be added until four days before sailing if they change their minds.
If they want the nicer restaurants once or twice after all, paying as they go is still cheaper than Premier: a specialty dinner is about $65 each with the service charge, and a photo package can be bought on its own. The ship's specialty rooms are Crown Grill, Sabatini's and The Catch by Rudi, per the Majestic Princess dining guide; reservations are made in the Princess app.
Set what one person would actually use on this 14-night sailing and the three options reprice as you go. Everything is per person. It opens on a light case: a shared Wi-Fi plan, a glass of wine, a latte and a bottle of water a day, and one specialty dinner.
How it counts. Standard pays $18 a day in gratuities, the Wi-Fi chosen, and every drink and meal at menu price plus the service charge. It is also priced with each of Princess's two non-alcoholic drink packages added, and the tile shows whichever of the three is cheapest, with the other two underneath. The Classic Soda package is $14.99 a day and covers sodas, mocktails, smoothies and canned juices. The Zero Alcohol package is $29.99 a day and covers those plus specialty coffees and teas, hot chocolate and bottled water. Both add the service charge, must be bought for the whole cruise, and can be bought by one person without the rest of the cabin. Plus is $65 a day and covers gratuities, one Wi-Fi device, up to 15 drinks a day priced at $15 or less, 12 bottles of water and four casual meals; specialty dinners and photos are extra. Premier is $100 a day and covers all of that plus drinks up to $20, unlimited casual and specialty dining and photos, and the $200 excursion credit is taken off only if the box is ticked. Regular coffee, tea, tap water and juice at breakfast are free on every fare. Drink prices are typical 2026 menu prices from Eat Sleep Cruise; Princess does not sell an unlimited photo package on its own, so the photo figure is a five-photo bundle. The mocktail price is an estimate. Princess's own page still quotes an 18% service charge while a March 2026 report says 20%, so that field is adjustable. For Plus and Premier, both people in a cabin have to choose the same option.
Decided: Princess Standard for all three, with one shared Wi-Fi plan, paying as they go for a specialty dinner or two. The travelers are buying the Wi-Fi plan themselves.
Decided 8 Oct 2026: Princess Standard for all three.
The solo traveler holds Princess EZair Flexible flights, which are free to drop until final payment on 3 November. The decision that matters is the return: Princess’s guideline for Heathrow is a flight no earlier than seven hours after the ship docks at 7:00 am, so 2:00 pm or later. With the package, everyone lands at Heathrow on Tue 2 Mar, so the outbound is now Mon 1 Mar. The fares below were priced for a 28 February departure and need repricing for the 1st; the schedules are daily.
| Flights | Out | Home, Wed 17 Mar | Round trip | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1United, nonstop both ways | UA930 4:40 pm Mon 1 Mar, lands 11:15 am Tue 2 Mar (or UA901 12:50 pm, lands 7:25 am) | UA949 1:45 pm | about $1,000, the traveler’s quote in the United app | The traveler’s preferred airline, with status perks on standard fares. The return is 15 minutes inside Princess’s guideline: workable with an early disembarkation group and an 8:15 am car, but less slack, and a separate departure from the Seattle pair. |
| 2British Airways, nonstop both ways | BA284 5:25 pm Mon 1 Mar, lands 11:50 am Tue 2 Mar | BA287 3:20 pm | about $900 estimate | More slack on the way home, the same 3:20 pm flight the traveler holds now, and Terminal 5 with the Seattle pair on BA, so one car each way. |
| 3Keep the Princess flights | Virgin VS20 4:40 pm Mon 1 Mar, lands 10:55 am Tue 2 Mar | BA287 3:20 pm | about $190 more than United | Fits the package now: it lands on the 2nd, and Princess already has it for the airport pickup. Princess helps rebook after a delay. Nothing to book or cancel. |
| Flights | Out | Home, Wed 17 Mar | Round trip | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium economy | United or BA, as above | as above | BA about $2,065; United Premium Plus $2,538 | Worth it only if comfort on the ten-hour flight matters more than the money. |
| Basic economyUnlikely: ruled out by the travelers | as above | as above | $720 to $824 | No checked bag on most and no value if cancelled. |
United, if the tighter return is comfortable and the $190 saving is worth a change; British Airways for the margin, or to fly with the Seattle pair. Keeping the Princess flights is now a sound choice too, since they fit the package. If the ticket changes, book the new one first, then have the booking agency remove the Princess flights before 3 November and send the new flight to Princess for the airport pickup.
Handled by the traveler; kept for reference.
Cabin B has no Princess air, so this is a fresh booking. Prices are per person, round trip, priced for a 28 February departure; with the package the outbound is now Mon 1 Mar, landing on the 2nd, so they need repricing. Standard economy figures are built from basic fares plus the usual step up and need confirming on the airline sites.
| Flights | Out | Home, Wed 17 Mar | Round trip | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1British Airways, nonstop both ways | BA48 6:45 pm Mon 1 Mar, lands 12:10 pm Tue 2 Mar | BA49 2:55 pm, lands 5:50 pm | about $900 to $950 estimate | Lands at Terminal 5 within minutes of BA284 from San Francisco, so all three can meet the Princess representative together, and share a car home on the 17th. |
| 2Alaska, nonstop both ways | AS100 6:50 pm Mon 1 Mar, lands 12:20 pm Tue 2 Mar | AS101 2:45 pm, lands 5:40 pm | about $900 to $950 estimate | The Main fare on alaskaair.com keeps its value if they cancel. |
| 3Premium economy on British Airways | BA48 | BA49 | about $2,090 | More room on a nine to ten hour flight, worth pricing for the traveler who would rather avoid a long, cramped day. |
| Flights | Out | Home, Wed 17 Mar | Round trip | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Delta out | DL20 4:55 pm Mon 1 Mar, lands 10:40 am Tue 2 Mar | Alaska or BA as above | not priced | The earliest Seattle arrival; a longer wait at Heathrow for the Princess pickup. |
| BusinessUnlikely: price | Alaska or BA | Alaska or BA | Alaska about $4,330; BA about $5,100 | Lie-flat, at about five times economy. |
British Airways if Cabin A flies BA too, so all three land together for the Princess pickup; Alaska otherwise. Premium economy is worth a price check either way.
Handled by the travelers; kept for reference.
The package covers the way in: Princess meets everyone at Heathrow on Tue 2 Mar, takes them to the hotel, and runs the coach from the hotel to the ship on the 3rd. What is left is the way home on the 17th: Princess’s shared coach, or a pre-booked private car. Public transport is ruled out for this party.
| Leg | Distance | Typical weekday drive | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heathrow to the London hotel | About 17 to 20 miles | 50 to 75 minutes to the South Bank; 60 to 90 to Tower Bridge | Arrival day, late morning |
| London hotel to the QEII terminal, Southampton | About 80 miles | 2 hours to 2 h 15 mid-morning. A 10:00 to 10:30 am pickup arrives around 12:15 to 12:45 pm. | Wed 3 Mar, sails 4:00 pm |
| QEII terminal to Heathrow | About 63 to 65 miles | 1 h 10 to 1 h 25 off-peak; allow 1 h 30 to 2 hours in morning traffic. An 8:30 am pickup arrives around 10:15 to 10:30 am. | Wed 17 Mar, ship docks 7:00 am |
What Princess will and will not sell. Airport to ship and ship to airport: yes, without a hotel package or Princess flights, for $64 per person each way on a 2026 sailing (2027 price unconfirmed), a shared coach that leaves when it fills, with flights that fit Princess’s guidelines. London hotel to ship from a hotel they book themselves: no; Cruise Critic members consistently report that the hotel pickup is only for package guests. Heathrow to a London hotel on its own: apparently not unverified. So dropping the package means arranging the first two legs privately; Princess’s ship-to-airport coach stays available on the 17th either way.
Three adults with two weeks of luggage need a 7 or 8 seat MPV, such as a Mercedes V-Class or Vito. Prices are per vehicle, as published on each operator’s site on 21 September 2026; all need a firm quote for the dates.

| 2Princess’s coach, ship to Heathrow | $64 each, about $192 for three (2026 price) | Shared coach from the terminal; Princess owns the problem if disembarkation runs late. Booked in Manage Booking or through the booking agency, with the flight details. | ||

| Princess coach from Victoria Coach StationUnlikely: a crowded coach station | about $64 each | A 10:00 am meet across town, by one report with over a hundred passengers; not confirmed for March. | ||
| Radio Taxis Southampton (formerly West Quay Cars)Unlikely: no-show complaints | 2.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot, with no-show complaints. |
Princess’s coach to Heathrow needs a flight that fits its guideline (2:00 pm or later), booked in Manage Booking or through the booking agency; one report had it leaving the terminal about 7:45 am and at Heathrow before 10:00 am. Heathrow has charged a drop-off fee of about £7 since January 2026; check each private quote includes it. Tipping is optional in the UK; £10 to £20 on a long transfer with luggage help is normal.
Cost is a wash: Princess’s coach is about $192 for three, a private MPV $190 to $360. The coach is simplest and Princess owns the problem if disembarkation runs late; a private car is door to door at a time they choose. Either way, ask Princess for an early disembarkation group, and with a car set the pickup for 8:15 to 8:30 am.

The South Bank by Westminster Bridge makes the best base: Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye and the Churchill War Rooms are a 10 to 15 minute walk, and the river boats leave from Westminster Pier. They need two rooms; true triples are rare in London. Rates are per room per night for 1 to 3 March 2027, searched for two adults; free-cancellation rates cost nothing to hold.
| Hotel | A night | Where | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1Park Plaza County Hall | about $229 | South Bank, beside the London Eye | A short level walk to Westminster Pier and the Eye. The best value of the riverside three. |
| 2Park Plaza Westminster Bridge | about $240 | South Bank, at Westminster Bridge | Large and modern, the same short walks. |
| 3London Marriott County Hall | about $410 | South Bank, on the river | River views of Big Ben. The splurge pick. |
| Hotel | A night | Where | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| H10 London Waterloo | about $165 | Waterloo | The cheapest good 4-star; a longer walk to the river. |
| Ruby Lucy | about $204 to $264 | Waterloo | Stylish, smaller rooms. |
| Strand Palace | about $261 | The Strand, across the river | Good for the West End and theatre. |
| The Royal Horseguards | about $392 | Whitehall, on the river | Upscale, near the War Rooms. |
| Sea Containers | £350 to £450 (about $475 to $610) estimate | Bankside | Luxury on the river. |
| The SavoyUnlikely: price | £650 to £900 (about $880 to $1,220) estimate | The Strand | The classic. |
| CorinthiaUnlikely: price | £750 to £1,000 (about $1,010 to $1,350) estimate | Whitehall | The top of the range. |
Park Plaza County Hall for two nights: riverside, level walking to everything on the London day, and among the cheaper 4-stars on the South Bank. Keeping both nights in London beats a last night in Southampton, which would use up the only full day.
Not needed: the package includes the hotel. Kept for reference.

Booked confirmed. Suggested the recommended plan; change it any time. Still open a choice in Decisions. The cruise, the London package and insurance are booked; the travelers are booking their own flights and the ride home from the ship.
Everyone flies out on Monday 1 March and lands at Heathrow late morning on Tuesday 2 March, where Princess meets each flight and brings them to the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge for one night. The afternoon is free for an easy look at London, ideally from a cab or a boat. On Wednesday 3 March the Princess coach takes them from the hotel to the QEII terminal for the 4:00 pm sailing. On Wednesday 17 March they make their own way from the ship to Heathrow for flights home.
The five port days, with time ashore, tender logistics, and Princess and independent excursions with prices and ratings, are in the companion ports guide, which has its own reactions and whose-turn box. Booking priority there: the Tromso aurora chase for the 9th, Tromso dog sledding or the reindeer camp for the 10th, the Princess aurora tour in Alta, then Molde.
London is 8 hours ahead of California and Norway 9, until US clocks change on 14 March; then 7 and 8.
A UK ETA for each traveler: £20 (about $27), through the official app or gov.uk, valid two years and good for both entries on this trip.
ETIAS is not in force and has no launch date; even if it starts before March there is a six-month grace period. Recheck in January.
In the Norwegian ports; coldest at Alta. Cloudy about three days in four at the aurora ports.
Port by port
Pounds in London at about $1.35; kroner in Norway at about 10.5 to the dollar (Sep 2026). Both nearly cashless; a contactless card covers almost everything.
UK: three-pin type G at 230 V. Norway: two-pin type F at 230 V. Adapters for both, and dual-voltage chargers only.
No Princess guarantee on this sailing. Two dark evenings ashore, Tromso and Alta, and several sea nights: a sighting is likely but not assured.
Bought through the booking agency. Carry the policy and the claims number with the passports.
Works in both the UK (also 999) and Norway. On board, the ship’s medical centre.
Insurance. Bought by the travelers through the booking agency. Worth checking in the policy what it pays for medical care and evacuation abroad: Medicare generally does not pay for care outside the US, and an evacuation from northern Norway can be expensive. None of this is professional insurance advice; the policy documents govern.
US citizens need a UK ETA: £20 (about $27), applied for through the official app or gov.uk, valid two years, and one covers both UK entries on this trip. ETIAS for Norway is not in force and has no official launch date; even if it launches before March 2027 there is a six-month grace period. Recheck in January 2027.
A planning total, not a quote, on top of the cruise fare and the Princess London package (both in the bookings section). It assumes Cabin A replaces the Princess flights with United or British Airways; keeping them costs about $190 more. Everyone stays on Standard, sharing one four-device Wi-Fi plan. Insurance is bought and left out.
| Cabin A, solo | Cabin B, each | |
|---|---|---|
| Flights, standard economy | about $1,000 | about $900 to $950 |
| London hotel and transfers in | in the package | in the package |
| Ship to Heathrow, 17 Mar | $64 by Princess coach, or a third of a car, up to about $120 | the same |

| Shore excursions | $400 to $900 | $300 to $600 |
| Total, beyond the cruise and the package | about $1,900 to $2,500 | about $1,700 to $2,150 |
Not included: insurance, meals and the afternoon in London, drinks and any specialty dining on board, and spending money. The onboard credit offsets some of the onboard line.
Options that were looked at and set aside, with the reason, so nobody has to wonder whether they were missed. Any of them can come back if the plan changes.
| Option | What it offered | Why it was set aside |
|---|---|---|
| Train to Southampton | London Waterloo to Southampton Central in about 1h15, from about £10 to £55 (about $14 to $75) each, plus a short taxi. The cheapest way to the ship. | Three people with two weeks of luggage, one who would rather avoid stairs, and a station at each end. A private vehicle costs about the same as Princess's coach and is door to door. |
| Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express into London | £15.50 to £26 (about $21 to $35) each, 15 to 40 minutes to central London. | Same luggage problem, and both need a change or a taxi to reach the hotel. |
| National Express coach | Southampton to Heathrow from £17.40 (about $23) each. | Does not serve the cruise terminal, and a fixed timetable is a poor match for a disembarkation morning. |
| Princess coach from Victoria Coach Station | The one London pickup Princess offers to guests not on its hotel package, about $64 each. | A 10:00am meet at a crowded coach station across town, by one report with over a hundred passengers. Not confirmed for March sailings. |
| Last night in Southampton or Winchester | Hotels at about $97 to $145, and a five-minute ride to the ship on sailing day. | It uses up most of the only full London day. A 10:00am pickup from London already leaves three hours of margin. |
| Flying in on sailing day | Saves the London hotel altogether. | Princess requires landing by 11:00am for a 4:00pm sailing, and a delayed flight means missing the ship. Arriving two days early removes that risk. |
| Basic economy fares | $720 to $824 round trip, roughly $180 less than standard economy. | No checked bag on most, no changes, and no value if the trip is cancelled. Ruled out by the travelers. |
| Connecting flights | Occasionally cheaper than the nonstops. | Both San Francisco and Seattle have several nonstops a day to Heathrow at similar prices. A connection adds hours and a way to miss the ship. |
| Late-morning flights home on the 17th | Home earlier: departures at 10:05am, 11:45am, 11:50am and 12:20pm. | The ship docks at 7:00am and Heathrow is up to two hours away. Princess's own guideline is no flight before 2:00pm. |
| Princess tours ending at Heathrow | Windsor from $155 or Stonehenge from $220 each, with luggage carried and a drop at the airport. | Both require flights after 5:45pm, later than any nonstop home. |
| A Stonehenge or Windsor stop on a private transfer | Turns a travel day into a sightseeing day; a private van via Stonehenge was listed from about $600. | Adds about three hours to a day that already has a deadline, and Windsor is steep and cobbled. |
| Other London bases | Westminster is closest to the sights; Covent Garden is best for dinner and theatre; Tower Bridge has good-value 4-star hotels at $190 to $230. | The South Bank by Westminster Bridge puts the river boats, the London Eye and Westminster within a short level walk, at lower rates than the West End. |
| Uber or a metered black cab for the long legs | No advance booking needed. | Vehicle size is a gamble with this much luggage, and surge pricing makes the fare unpredictable. A pre-booked MPV at a fixed price is safer. |
| Geiranger or Hjorundfjord from Alesund | The classic fjord day trips. | The boats do not run in March. |
Three kinds of statement appear here, and they are not equally solid.
Taken from the travelers' own documents. Fares, the hotel package price, insurance, cabin category, the cancellation schedule and the final payment date come from the two Princess booking confirmations dated 16 September 2026. These are firm.
Checked live, with a date. Flight and hotel prices were searched on Expedia on 20 and 21 September 2026 for the actual travel dates. Transfer, tour and excursion prices are as published on each operator's site on those dates. They are accurate as found and will move. Nothing here is booked or held.
Estimated or unverified. Anything carrying an estimate or unverified tag. The main ones: standard economy fares on British Airways and from Seattle, which are built from basic fares plus the usual step up; the split of the Princess package into room and transfers, which is inferred from the solo and shared prices; Princess's 2027 transfer price; the last tender time in Alta; and how far ahead the ship's restaurants can be reserved. Policies attributed to Princess come from its public pages and, where those are silent, from recent Cruise Critic reports, and are worth confirming with the booking agency before acting.
Insurance notes are general information, not professional insurance advice; the plan documents govern. Dollar conversions are rough.
